NUS Commencement 2023

A project done for the Office of Alumni Relations from the Nation University of Singapore (NUS) to encourage the graduates of 2023 to join the alumni community. Having texts to lead the animation was a challenge yet a joy, as it gave me the opportunity experiment with the form and movement of dynamic typography. Match cuts using the movement of the shapes and camera are used to transition from one scene to the next, expressing continuity and the message of connectivity.

References

I was inspired by opening titles and lyric videos that uses limited but bold color palette, as I only had blue and orange as NUS's branding colors to use. While simple and snappy collage animations are the main inspiration behind the treatment and motion of the photos.
